362 Rural Settlements
JSC «QMobile» is a key government partner in delivering one of the most important initiatives of the «Digital Kazakhstan» national programme.
Challenge
Because of difficult terrain and the economic impracticality of laying ground communication networks, remote villages are often left without stable broadband internet access. This digital divide limits residents' access to quality education, government services, telemedicine, and modern digital services.
Solution
JSC «QMobile», commissioned by the Telecommunications Committee of the MDICI RK, is delivering a project to connect 362 rural settlements as part of the national «Affordable Internet» initiative. In 2025, in just 2.5 months, the QMobile team provided satellite internet to 328 remote villages across the country. Work in this direction continues — in 2026 a further 34 SNP were connected.
Technology
Eutelsat OneWeb low-orbit satellite communications provide remote villages with stable, high-speed internet without building complex and costly ground infrastructure.
Rapid deployment
Rolling out connectivity even in hard-to-reach areas of the country in the shortest possible time.
Data protection
Traffic lands and is processed within the territory of Kazakhstan.
Regulatory compliance
User authorization is carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan — via e-Government and SMS.
The «362 SNP» project, part of the «Digital Kazakhstan» and «Affordable Internet» state programmes, reduces the digital divide between cities and remote rural settlements, expands access to government and social services, and creates new opportunities for education, work, and business for rural residents.
